A new but very knowledgable and experienced player on the market with years of experience behind the team created software to detect bots and fraud transactions for small and large businesses. MTN Haus was brought in to architect and develop the BotNot Shopify App and create an infrastructure for the application.

THE CHALLENGE

Complex backend tech that needs a simple solution

The backend software for bot and fraud detection depends on an enormous amount of data points pulled from the Shopify API. Data flows from Shopify to the backend and from the backend services to Shopify. BotNot partnered with MTN Haus to leverage their Shopify expertise to a Shopify App. Both teams successfully worked in parallel which added a layer of complexity with coordination, communication, and documentation. We were able to solve the challenge of how to extend Shopify admin within Shopify limitations. We streamlined development and production environments with automated deployments.

Custom Shopify App Development

Use Terraform to create an infrastructure with automated image provisions. Various piplines were utilized for automation and code validation.

A simple high performance and scalable ReactJS Shopify App interface was built based on app designs in Figma.

Since the Shopify interface cannot be modified, MTN Haus leveraged all available UI and data points to feed useful fraud and bot information back to the merchant. Significant research and implementation of Shopify data models and API endpoints were needed.
